For you VW nuts. How do you turn on the AC in a 2007 VW Rabbit. My sister is selling hers, I let it start & let it run for a little bit. It started but has check engine light. I wanted to run a AC for a tiny bit, but could not figure it out. Help, pls.

If it has climate control, it should be “auto” (“econ” turns it off). Otherwise, I think there’s just an AC button over the fan speed dials.

There is no “AC” button inside it. (That I saw).

Post a pic of the dash.

Looks like there is an AC button just over the center switch, maybe?

Is there a button marked “off” with a light on it?

That button says, “Econ”.

“Econ” means “A/C off” for VW. Take it out of Econ mode, you should be good.

Are you certain it has A/C?

Does it have AC? The Rabbit was kinda a bargain Golf and AC might have been an option.

I’m pretty certain pressing econ and the light above it lighting means the a/c is working. Set the lower LH knob to a temp below 72 , fan speed to 3 or more, vent setting to 9 oclock position. Sorry its hours later, just got home.

Could it be possible that it just doesn’t have air con?

It’s very possible the car does not have AC. AC was an option in most northern states into the 90's. Canada might have similar things going on there with the AC optional.
